Quickie Lu

As of now, it was three and a half day since our apartment ran out of power. Without electricity, things are a bit difficult. The food in the fridge had gone bad, or least going to be. I cannot cook those food either, seeing that as my electric stove will not work without a source of current. There is no light inside the apartment either.

I think that it was the first time in weeks that I looked up at the sky. Up there, alone in its bright glory was the moon, a full moon. It was the only source of illumination we had, along with contributions from various sources of light, in particular, 1201. Without electricity, I felt like my life changed a bit. It returns the nostalgia of staying back in the old days. Truthfully, I could survive just as well without electricity. My main concern was only to be unable to cook my meals and resorted to eating out.

I could shower in the dark without any hiccups. It was probably due to my past experience as a “night ghost”. I could walk around in the dark and move like normal. I found myself to be slightly more productive, as the shorter period of light caused me to prioritize and take presence over more important matters. I had been doing more in this couple days than I used to be able to. Plus, it remove me from my usual procrastination method, ie social networking site and various mangas and dramas addiction. My circadian time changed as well, although I would like to point out that Daylight Saving started yesterday. I had been sleeping earlier than usual, and would probably continue so.

But, things are not going to stay that way. The energy provider had been notified and electricity would probably be available by at least tomorrow afternoon. Say hello to routine life again and to delicious home cooked meals.

Moments ago, a pretty blond hair girl just offered to kiss me. And ~ I rejected her.

Phah, I fail at life.

Jeff will need to treat me to a full course meal once he gets here. Enough said.

I decided to take a temporary break from updating here. Although I could just log off in an instant, I felt that there’s a bit responsibility to put a small notice here. I will use any additional chance I can get to reorganize my time and priorities here in college. Due to my usual habit (of you-know-what), accumulating problem sets and assignments have took its toll on me. As well as preparing for future anticipation, such as finding a job, I’m using this time now to recuperate and prepare myself for the challenges to come.

I’m in a middle of preparing a strategy or two to adapt to my new situation. I’m also in the midst of finalizing my courses, which I was pondering on the trade off of having a heavier course load compared to what I have now. And to my friends who are inquiring how I am doing now, it will be better to just contact me via MSN or Skype. So, it’s not a goodbye. Just a note to put that my posting will be sporadic and perhaps, I might find my writing muse within a week or two.

Jeffrey wrote some dedications to his friends who are leaving for the States soon. He provide quite a comical, albeit almost true description of the Inti’s resident. Since his friends are my acquaitances too, I’ll put a link to the post to show what I would write instead or not should he didn’t wrote it instead :P

Let the sleeping monk lies.

With the holiday progressing, I found my productivity going down the drain. Initially, I knew I was already slacking off from the beginning but I was hoping that things will pick up as time progressed.

By now, I would probably sleep on average half my day away.

The lack of work and the availability of leisure time has erode whatever incentives I had to get up from my bed and get my body moving. I need to find new focus or I’ll just waste another month worth of time into oblivion. Somehow, my gut feeling is that this will be the last day I’m feeling this free in a long time.Should had appreciate the time in my hand instead of dozing off.

Hmm, I just received a very disturbing news from my mother. It seems that rumors are flying are that the petrol kiosks around the state are on strike – refusing to sell precious hydrocarbons to customers. I don’t know how long this strike will be as unconfirmed sources estimate it to be from one to three days. For all that I know, the line for the petrol kiosks are just as long as when the government recently announced the hike in fuel price. People really do respond for the slightest incentives they can find.

I’m not sure if the strike is a nationwide protest against the recent fuel hike, or just a local movement. I hope it won’t esclate when I am going for my visa interview in a few more days. No fuel on sale means no means of transportation for me to go to the embassy.

Might as well give this a little shout out here. The USA for Students is going to be held tomorrow.

The details are as following:

Saturday June 14, 2008

10:00AM – 4:00PM
Dewan San Choon – Wisma MCA
163 Jalan Ampang,
Kuala Lumpur

Don’t miss it out if you are planning to go US to further your education. It is the largest place of information where you can obtained first hand experience from all your seniors who had successfully entered into US universities. The seminars they gave are worth all the time you spent there. If not, at least you still have a consolation price of meeting me. I’ll be manning the booth besides the FAQ section. So, see you all there.

Sigh, even though I already have such a busy week, I still signed up as a facilitator  in Children Camp, which is supposed to start in another 7 more hours. My already lagging behind assignment will be left even farther behind. On the bright side, I will be entertaining and playing with orphans for the next two days, literally spending 24 hours a day with them. Perhaps, karma will play its role and I will find myself picking up the pace again.

Life has taken an even drastic turn and I now found my life even hectic compared to a few days before. Between assignments, editorial board, and all my outside activities, I really need to have a break sometimes although this hectic life is caused by me sleeping 10 hours a day. So, I’ll be back!.
